<p>At the community, grassroots level, Indiana is served by a Township form of government which is overseen by an elected Township Trustee and Township Board. These officials live in the community which they serve, and are directly responsible to their neighbors, friends and family.</p>
<p>The idea of Township Government is as old as the United States- a grassroots form of government where citizen officials contribute to maintain community values and goals. The duties of the the Township Trustee are diverse, and are set by state law and community needs.</p>

<p><strong><em>Fire Department adds new equipment&#8230;and upgrades existing equipment</em></strong></p>
<ol>In late summer of 2011, the Town of LaGrange, Bloomfield Township and Clay Township will be acquiring a new pumper truck to provide for reliable, up to date protection for our citizens. The new pumper is a 2010 model Darley, which will be replacing a 1980 International.</ol>
<ol>In 2010, the main pumper truck for the LaGrange Fire Department was updated to include state of the art foam capabilities. In addition, Bloomfield and Clay townships provided the funding for 6 new units of turnout gear, helping to maintain optimum safety for our volunteer firefighters.</ol>
<ol>In 2009, the Town of LaGrange, Bloomfield Township and Clay Township updated their fire fighting capabilities with the purchase of a new tanker truck. The Danko, 3000 gallon tanker with a Peterbuilt chasis will replace a 1984 International, 1500 gallon tanker.</ol>
